This is my practice sheet, here I needed to test creating a dry lake bed, Ive never made one before, Im not an artist, Im self-teaching from scratch.  I know there are TONS of mistakes made here, but that is what a Practice Sketch was for, I couldnt keep restarting and as hard as it was for me - I just committed to my 'boo-boo's'  RIP Bob Ross ~ This Doodles for you.
